Bonkerz Featured Artist Comedy Clubs have unleashed on the world
Since 2010, BonkerZ Featured Artist Comedy Clubs have unleashed on the world, some of the hottest Pros, Semi-Pros and Rising Stars, from around the world. In 2015, it was the only Comedy Club in Australia, selected for the Mastercard Priceless Campaign.

BonkerZ Comedy Club shares the profits of each comedy night with ALL performing comics plus a percentage of each ticket sold, goes to the Fred Hollows Foundation. It's our 5th year of donating and we think it's worthy cause :-).

Join us every Friday and every 1st and 3rd Saturday for a new line up of Australia's funniest comedians. 1 show only per day.

Doors open at 7pm, Show starts 8pm sharp.

Dinner, Drink and Discount City Parking Show packages available.

The Balmain Sinfonia begins its 2017 season with a thrilling concert
The Balmain Sinfonia begins its 2017 season with a thrilling concert of Mahler, Mozart and Debussy,
showcasing young Australian Soprano Zoe Drummond and with recently honoured artistic director Gary Stavrou OAM again holding the baton.

The latest in the popular series of Saturday afternoon concerts takes place on 1 April 5pm, at the Italian Forum auditorium in Leichhardt.

They will play Debussy’s Petite Suite, Mozart’s Exsultate, Jubilate - almost a concerto for voice -
and Mahler's 4th Symphony (which also features a closing vocal movement).

The soloist is young Sydney soprano Zoe Drummond - a first class honours graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
She is in the 3rd year of her Melba Opera Trust scholarship and, in 2016, won the prestigious Opera Foundation for Young Australians Lady Fairfax New York Scholarship. She also made her Opera Australia principal debut in The Eighth Wonder and recorded her first CD with The Seven Sopranos.
This year, she performs with Victorian Opera and Opera Australia before commencing post-graduate study
at London’s famous Guildhall School of Music and Drama on full scholarship.

It’s fitting that, in the Balmain Sinfonia’s 25th anniversary year, its founder, chief conductor and artistic director, Gary Stavrou was (this just passed Australia Day) awarded the Order of Australia Medal for services to music.

Welsh poet Dylan Thomas' masterpiece
Welsh poet Dylan Thomas' masterpiece Under Milk Wood is an emotive and hilarious account of a spring day in a fictional Welsh seaside village. We learn of the inhabitants' dreams and desires, their loves and regrets. The play, closely associated with Richard Burton, was 'crowned with a storm of cheers' after its opening performance.

Under Milk Wood is like going 'Up the Garden Path' and 'Down the Rabbit Hole'. It has the beauty of your grandmother's garden, language that is eternal, and the strange reality you would find in Wonderland. The history of the town is rich and the characters are deep, quirky, and delightfully surprising. It is the town of 'Llareggub', which is 'bugger all' backwards. In Under Milk Wood we follow their lives for a day and that is the beauty. The woman who lives with her two dead husbands, the blind sea captain who dreams of his love, Lily Smalls who stares at herself in a mirror... Dylan Thomas' characters reflect the beauty of how strange life can be and the joys and despairs of age and youth.

This piece by Dylan Thomas was said to give "scope for all his versatility, for his gifts of humour and characterisation as well as his genius for poetry". His language and characters are the heart and soul of the piece.

Laugh Hard is an event designed to make you do exactly that, laugh hard! It is essentially a competition between two comedy/improvisation teams as they battle it out on the Top Ten Theatresports games, to see which is funniest.

The night will be held at Manning Bar, University of Sydney on Friday 31st March and will include some of our ambassadors and special guest celebrities. The teams will each be captained by TOTTN Ambassador Socratis Otto, and Danielle Cormack, from TV's Wentworth. In addition we have actor and comedian Darren Gilshenan, former Big Brother contestant Lisa Clark, funny man Mitch Garling, Theatresports royalty Rob Boddington, and other budding comedians involved.

The night will be MC'd by F45's Dan Conn and music will be provided by Benny Davis from Axis of Awesome. More names to be announced soon.

A Sydney theatre company is to present the Australian premiere of a hilarious new Broadway show
IT SHOULDA BEEN YOU is a hilarious and wild, musical farce with blushing brides,
nervous grooms, overbearing mums, unexpected guests, and plenty of crazy twists and turns.
It’s the funniest wedding you will ever go to… and it’s coming to the Independent Theatre, North Sydney from 31 March!
The bride is Jewish. The groom is Catholic.
Her mother is a force of nature, his mother is a tempest in a cocktail shaker - WHAT could possibly go wrong?
And, when the bride's ex-boyfriend crashes the party, it's up to the sister of the bride to turn a tangled mess
into happily-ever-after in this musical comedy for anyone who has ever had parents!
Charming, funny and original, It Shoulda Been You invites you to a roller-coaster of a wedding day, with a twist or three!

According to director James Worner – a legend of the Sydney theatre scene – there are all the relatable, familiar fears, tensions and joys of a family celebration… and then some.

“Family expectations, self-doubt, fear of disappointing loved ones, maternal love and approval, conflict and acceptance… it’s all there!
And throw in some star-crossed lovers and there really is something for everyone!”

Worner explains why he was so keen to direct the show – and thrilled when Chatswood won the rights to its Australian premiere:
“On a recent trip to New York, I saw a dozen Broadway shows and this was the best of them, hands down!
We all see elements of ourselves in the characters if not the situations themselves. It’s also laugh-out loud funny!
I also love that our heroine is unconventional, defying the usual clichés. Plump, no-nonsense but ultimately seeking affirmation from her mother.”

It Shoulda Been You is a wedding musical that you'll never forget, where anything that can go wrong does, and love pops up in mysterious places.
