New-York based Australian actors Luke Edward Smith and Chelsea Ingram are set to star in the Australian premiere of Ingram’s thrilling, provocative play, KEEP CALLING, running 13-17 Sept late show at the PACT Theatre Erskineville as part of the Sydney Fringe festival.

Stacey has been hiding out in her recently deceased father’s apartment. Wanting to avoid family issues, she has intentionally missed the funeral and the wake.
Her estranged elder brother Sam comes to find her and try to pull her back to reality - but it won’t be without a fight.
This is the first time the siblings have been alone together in fifteen years and – forced to discuss their childhood and bingeing ...
on their father’s booze and drugs they find in his apartment - the past slowly seeps out… with all its shocking secrets..

Luke Edward Smith was raised in Camden, NSW and was a founding member of Twisted Tree Theatre in Sydney.
He now lives in New York City where he is a member of the Primitive Grace theatre ensemble. His theatre credits include Hamlet, Our Town, King John, Amadeus, The Private Ear, and Under Milkwood and he can be seen in the upcoming feature film To Tokyo.   more

The only ethnic Romani band in Australia, fronted by Hungarian Romani-Gypsy singer Sarah Bedak. Lolo Lovina`s music reflects the cosmopolitan identity of an artist, who grew up with three native tongues and cultures. The charming and passionate performance of the charismatic singer makes each of her concerts an unique experience. Featuring Serbian Rroma drummer and guitarist Nenad Radic, Stuart Vandegraaff on Sax, clarinet & Ney, David Carr on guitar and banjo & Nathan Gatt on double bass. Lolo Lovina have played at the Opera House, Guca Festival Serbia, in New Caledonia,... in Europe and to full houses wherever they go. Their album Rroma Sapien received a 4 Star review in the London based World Music magazine Song Lines (June 2016) and was played in full on National Australian radio .   more

Lurline Chamber Orchestra's Irresistible Spring Concert
One of Eastern Sydney’s classical music treasures, the Lurline Chamber Orchestra, will perform an irresistible program of romantic and contemporary music in Maroubra on Sunday afternoon, September 11.
The 2.30pm concert (including afternoon tea) at the Holy Family Church Hall features music of Holst, Rachmaninov, Wiren, Bartok and two much-loved Australian composers – Tommy Tycho and Daniel Rojas.

The Lurline Chamber Orchestra was founded by sisters Maria (violin) and Angela Lindsay (viola)
– both of whom have played with the Australian, Vienna and Adelaide Chamber Orchestras - and comprises a core of 11 fabulous string players.
When they formed in 2009, says Maria, the...y agreed that creating a vibrant, dedicated group
to perform some of the most fulfilling, exciting, beautiful, varied repertoire was a terrific idea!
“Working together is a joy and a never-ending source of discovery,” Angela adds.

The LCO has held two very successful seasons in venues across Sydney, aiming to make quality music accessible to people of all ages in as many areas as possible.
Beyond these series, other engagements include Bowral Autumn Music Festival, Kangaroo Valley Arts Festival, Music at the National Gallery of Australia, Hunter Baillie Spring Festival and the International Space Time Concerto Competition, Newcastle.
The orchestra has also collaborated with Bel a Capella and Sutherland Shire Choir, as well as the Good Old Days Concerts at Sydney Town Hall.
Celebrated musician and educator Richard Gill is its patron and Lurline was also honoured to find great support and patronage from the late and legendary Tommy Tycho, who composed his Violin Concerto for Maria.
Tycho was personal musician to the Shah of Iran, musical director at Channel 7 for 15 years,
directed countless Royal Command Performances and conducted all ABC Symphony orchestras before his death in 2013.   more

The “Reverend” Jonas Nightingale, an electrifying performer and con-artist, is travelling with his ministry
when his bus breaks down in a small Kansas town.
The part-time reverend and full-time crook pitches a tent and invites the locals to a revival.
The sheriff, a woman named Marla McGowan, is determined to stop Jonas from separating the townspeople from their money,
and Jonas' real challenge arises when he meets the sheriff and her son, whose love forces an ultimate cynic to take a real ‘Leap of Faith’.

Throwing Shade Theatre Company presents BLACKBIRD by David Harrower
Fifteen years ago, Una and Ray had a relationship. She was 12, and he was 40.
Then he abandoned her, and they haven't set eyes on each other since. Now she's found him again...
After three years in prison and subsequent hardships, Ray has a new identity and has made a new life for himself, thinking that he cannot be found.
Una, twenty-seven, has thought of nothing else; upon seeing a photo of Ray in a magazine,
she has tracked him down and arrived, unannounced, at his office.
Guilt, rage, and raw emotions run high as they recollect the passionate relationship they had fifteen years ago.
Without moral judgements, the play never shies away from the brutal truth of this... abandoned and unconventional love.
Nevertheless, the consequences are shattering.

Throwing Shade Theatre Company (Metamorphosis, No Exit, Disco Pigs) brings a powerful two-hander
to a new Sydney stage as part of the Fringe festival from 6 September.

Directed by Andrew Langcake, BLACKBIRD stars Eleanor Ryan (The Women, The Catastrophists)
and William Jordan (Metamorphosis, Enchanted April) and will play from 6 to 10 Sept at the new Off-Broadway Hub in Annandale.

Blackbird premiered at King's Theatre as part of the Edinburgh International Festival, in August 2005,
and transferred to the Albery Theatre in London's West End in 2006. The production received the 2007 Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Play.
In 2007, the play opened simultaneously at the Manhattan Theatre Club in New York and at American Conservatory Theatre, San Francisco.   more
