The Eaton Gorge Theatre Company and EMU Productions are proud to present this timeless Australian tale of growing up. The story is based on the adventures of a 9 year old girl Audrey Barlow who lives in the outback in 1930’s Australia. There’s a lot of change occurring in the outside world as Audrey wonders about the really important things in life such as ...whether being a swaggie is lonelier than being a girl and how many eggs can a chicken hold in their stomach at one time?

This is a remount of The Eaton Gorge Theatre Company’s play based on the award winning children’s book by Christine Harris. Audrey Of The Outback was presented at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre to sell out crowds and was developed with support from Merrigong Theatre Company and Upper River Arts Exchange Artist Residency, dramaturgy with Richard Tulloch, design by Imogen Ross and for this season directed by Juliet Scrine. This season features 15 year old Darcy Scrine playing Audrey; Audrey’s brother Price is being played by 16 year old Edward Atkinson; Dad, Toothless & Mr Akbar are all played by Ben Verdon; and Mum by Susan Kennedy. This charming story will be enjoyed by the whole family from grandparents to littlies.

The Goon Show LIVE! returns to the Blue Mountains for a 4th consecutive year, serving up a sumptuous dinner and show featuring Spike Miligan's madcap hilarity, silly sounds and naughty bits.

This year’s featured episode is the ever popular ‘The International Christmas Pudding’ (series 6, ep 9). It’s a tale of danger and custard!

The programme is completed with two more Goon Show classics;

- ‘The Missing No. 10 Downing Street‘ – It was midnight on Christmas Eve 1953…Number 10 Downing Street & the Prime Minister had disappeared! AND…

- ‘China Story’ – To end the evening’s entertainment, an ancient Chinese play translated from an old Greek soup recipe found engraved on the seat of a dustman’s trousers in East Acton

Using the transcripts of the original BBC Radio broadcasts and digitally recreated sound effects, The Goon Show LIVE! is the perfect blend of situation comedy, radio theatre and absolute lunacy all rolled into one rib-breaking giggle-fest!

As in previous years, all of your favourite Goon Show characters will be featured, including those conniving cads Grytpype-Thynne and Moriarty, the feeble and idiotic couple Henry Crun and Minnie Bannister, everyone’s favourite school-boy Bluebottle – and of course the famous Eccles.

Chris Gudu & Afro Pamoja Back In Sydney

The Chris Gudu performance is worth experiencing, not just once but over and over again.
After their last concert at this venues a few months ago totally sold out within days Chris Gudu & Afro Pamoja From Bulawayo, Zimbabwe bring the irresistible township jive rhythms back to Django Bar as part of their 2016 international tour, by popular demand.

The band has the musical and spiritual grooves from Chris Gudu’s homeland where he grew up not only playing musical instruments and singing with his family, but actually making the instruments, namely guitars and drums.

Chris Gudu was the co-founder of Matonto, alongside his brother Calvin Gudu, and he is the former leader, bass man and lead singer of the group Jive Kayana, which during its days sold out concerts and created big waves at festivals. His up tempo and exuberant music is what is often referred to as “Township Jive Music” and is better known in Southern Africa as Umbaqanga music which sometimes presents a touch of Afro jazz. Umbaqanga music originates from the streets and shebeens of Southern Africa.

Chris Gudu was born into a musical family where he was exposed to a musical environment from a tender age, playing the African drum, singing in church choirs directed by his mother as well as featuring in school choirs and a lot of talent shows from primary to high school. He continues to leap from strength to strength as his music gets more and more attention from media and the fans at large. There is always the unmistakable and unique magic when Chris Gudu & Afro Pamoja takes to the stage. Their unparalleled performance has the richness of that unique and powerful soothing yet exuberant, exhilarating and ‘get up and dance’ kind of rhythms. Afro Pamoja comprises some of well respected and sought after talented and well trained musicians who always leave the audience wanting more and more. If you have seen this fine band on stage before you know for sure that you are bracing yourself for another awesome treat.

Join Timothy Hugh Govers and Sallie Don as they dissect all the most unedifying moments of the 44th parliament of Australia and examine the performances of our politicians in the 2016 election campaign.

Over the course of the night they will be joined by Australia’s two most recent former Prime Ministers (Jonas Holt and Nathan Lentern) as the two protagonists of the 2013 election explain precisely why they ought to be leading their parties instead.

There’ll also be appearances from Christopher Pyne (Lentern), an exclusive interview with a senior Donald Trump campaign strategist (Umit Bali)
and a return of Brent Thorpe’s genius creation, “Deidre Flick” – self-funded retiree from Mosman.

AUSTRALIA VOTES is an irreverent and playful celebration of the eccentricities and paradoxes that dominate Australian political life.
