The Les Robinson Story & Belle Of The Cross...

Event Date: 20/11/2014, 08:00 pm

Two one act plays about a couple of Sydney's unique & iconic storytellers
Two one act plays about a couple of Sydney's unique and iconic storytellers.
THE LES ROBINSON STORY is a one-man, comedy-drama that tells the story of the idiosyncratic Sydney writer and freelance journalist Les Robinson, an eccentric figure on Sydney's bohemian scene between the 1920s and 1960s, whose unconventional ways gained him much local notoriety. Based on Fremd’s experiences of living and working in and around the Cross in the 1990s, BELLE OF THE CROSS features a connoisseur of the pavement, stained with life's residue - blood, dirt, rubbish, condoms and bird shit.

The winters get colder while Belle waits for the thief who stole her money, and with it her life, to be caught.

THE LES ROBINSON STORY & BELLE OF THE CROSS
Written by Kieran Carroll and Angelika Fremd
Directed by Ron Hadley and David Ritchie
Featuring Martin Portus, Matt Thomson, Gertraud Ingeborg and Colleen Cook

The Grumpy Old Women - Taree

Event Date: 19/11/2014, 08:00 pm

Based on the Hit UK TV Comedy!
Back to knock some sense back into the nation, THE GRUMPY OLD WOMEN return with their brand spanking new show FIFTY SHADES OF BIEGE!

These outrageous women will be entertaining audiences in Warrnambool, Wendouree, Warragul, Latrobe, Shepperton, Sydney, Cessnock, Taree, Tamworth, Newcastle and Port Macquarie from 10 to 23 November.

This jam-packed show comes from the original authors, Jenny Éclair and Judith Holder. It includes all the most Grumpy topics... learning the art of 'Grumpy Grooming', the joy of large pants, a free nagging master class (how to get your own way without him even noticing), beards for women, which style will suit you?

Complimentary Anger Management workshop, middle-aged drinking: the rules, navigating the smorgasbord of worry, voluntary euthanasia vs. retirement, how to customise an unwanted pole dancing kit and a mercifully brief Zumba demonstration. All this and more!

Inspired by the ratings-busting BBC Two series and best-selling Grumpy old Women handbook, Grumpy Old Women Live, is a celebration of the pre-, peri- and post-menopausal female condition. Three live and rather furious females take to the stage for an orgy of middle aged mayhem, with not a thong in sight. Don't forget your bifocals.

Come and bask in an orgy of fury and big laughs in this glorious live version of the hit TV show.

National Chinese Opera & Dance Company
The National Chinese Opera and Dance Company celebrate the wisdom and life journey of Confucius in this grand dance drama CONFUCIUS that will premiere on Tuesday 18 November at Sydney’s State Theatre.

A staple in Chinese tradition and belief, Confucius comes to life in the form of 60 dancers who tell the story of the iconic sage who so drastically changed the moral and political landscape of China.
In a discordant world with a faltering king, Confucius fights to bring harmony and wisdom to the court and the people of China.

Since its debut nearly two years ago, this dramatic dance drama has been performed over 100 times and has received a warm audience welcome.
This year marks the 10th Anniversary of The Confucius Institute that operates in centres across the world, including Sydney.

The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe

Event Date: 15/11/2014, 07:30 pm

Now a heart-warming musical!
Get ready to enjoy the Sydney stage premiere of the timeless children's classic
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe – now a heart-warming musical!

Presented by Chatswood Musical Society – with a huge cast bursting with young talent -
the show plays from 14-22 November at the Zenith Theatre, Chatswood.

C.S. Lewis’ thrilling tale - which generations have enjoyed as a book and more recently as an
award-winning motion picture - comes to life on stage in Irita Kutchmy’s beautiful musical.

Can the mighty Aslan rescue two sons of Adam and two daughters of Eve from the fearsome perils
on the other side of the wardrobe? Come and join Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy
as they are thrown into the middle of a world they don't know, didn't expect and can't leave
- at least, not if the White Witch has her say!

Already universally loved and thoroughly enchanting in the original, this all-new production
adds the further magic of gorgeous music… and realised by a brilliant cast and crew,
liberally sprinkled with young local talent – some as young as 8!
