The Reservoir Trio are joined by special guest Ella Brinch to play Mozart and Brahms!

For the final programme in this year’s stunning season, The Reservoir Trio return with special guest performer Ella Brinch. Two monumental pieces of chamber music will be featured: Mozart’s fundamental and pioneering G minor quartet of 1785, followed by the bold, daring and hugely expressive Quartet in A major by Brahms. Join these passionate performers for the closing concert in what has been a year of thrilling and inspiring music.

Frances has become one of Sydney’s most exciting and in-demand ‘popular jazz’ artists.

Described by ABC Classic FM’s Mal Stanley as ‘one to watch’, Frances is a sophisticated and classy vocalist, pianist and original songwriter.

Frances’ original songs, whether up-tempo swing, blues or ballads, have a natural fresh quality and universal charm that connects with her growing audience. Her distinctive interpretation of classics and jazz standards often goes beyond genre, reinforcing both her unique sound and a broad ‘adult contemporary’ appeal.

Frances regularly performs with her band at Sydney’s leading jazz venues - this is her second performance at Foundry616. Her band includes some of Australia’s finest up-and-coming young jazz musicians including 2014 Wangaratta Festival finalist Peter Koopman on guitar, James Heazlewood-Dale on double bass and Tim Geldens on drums. They attracted and thrilled a large crowd at the recent Manly Jazz Festival.

Frances grew up listening to Diana Krall, Norah Jones, Eva Cassidy and Ella Fitzgerald who she acknowledges amongst her influences. She studied classical piano while at school, later moving to contemporary music and jazz, and taking up singing after she finished. She then completed a Degree in Music Performance at the Australian Institute of Music. Since graduating at the end of 2010, Frances has established herself as a viable professional performing artist.

For the launch of her new album, Silent Bridge, Elodie Sablier's performance at the Foundry616 is bringing together her exquisite piano composition and performance skills.

Blessed with technique from the best French Conservatoires, and with the influence of several years on the Sydney jazz and alternative music scene, Elodie delivers a touching honesty in her sound that pushes the boundaries of classical music in her own inimitable style.

For this particular occasion, Elodie will be playing some of her compositions accompanied by extracts of movies, many of which have been key sources of inspiration for her album.

Elodie's music is a thing of great beauty, and the performance of this young talented composer promises to be nothing short of enchanting.

Brahms, Dvorak and Mendelssohn
The Balmain Sinfonia concludes its stellar 2014 season with an extraordinary reunion with international violin sensation SUSIE PARK.

The Sun 7th December concert takes place at 2.30pm at Macquarie Theatre, Macquarie University and is sure to win hearts and touch musical souls.

In 1995, a barely known Sydney teenager named Susie Park won the Balmain Sinfonia Concerto Competition (and the Richard Goldner Award), stunning the judges with her performance of the Wieniawski Violin Concerto No. 2. She went on to play that concerto with the Sinfonia in a full, major concert program and equally stunned the audience with her brilliant but mature interpretation. Her career overseas has since been stellar – Vienna, New York, Boston, Copenhagen and many more of the world’s iconic concert halls.

Now, she returns to Sydney to headline the Sinfonia’s final concert for 2014 featuring in Brahms’ sublime Violin Concerto. The program also includes Mendelssohn’s wonderfully tuneful Ruy Blas Overture and Dvořák’s sweeping Symphony No. 6.

Sweeney Todd has long been on New Theatre’s wish-list, so we’re really excited that it’s coming to our stage as the last production for our 2014 season. Sydney is in the midst of a surge of creativity when it comes to independently produced musicals, with companies such as The Hayes Theatre Co, Luckiest Productions, Wooden Horse and Squabbalogic bringing to life a treasure trove of riskier, less frequently produced work and diversifying the theatrical landscape.

The talented ensemble includes recent AIM Music Theatre graduate Erin Bogart, Briony Burnes, Jamie Collette (Privates on Parade), Daisy Cousens, Carl Olsen and Steven Richie (Fiddler on the Roof featuring Topol, Melbourne).

Matt is the sharpest, quickest and most versatile comedic performer in the business. He is a comedian, Emcee, actor, rapper and media star. Matt is a multiple award winner, including Best New Comer at the 2012 Melbourne International Comedy Festival. He was also nominated for one of the biggest gongs on the planet - Best Newcomer at the 2013 Edinburgh Comedy Festival. He has been all over your TV in recent years, on shows including; 'It's A Date', 'Dirty Laundry Live', 'Can Of Worms' and 'Thursday FC'. We are thrilled to have him at The Laugh Stand for Christmas.

Your Emcee is another hard working, rising professional - Ben Darsow (WA). Ben has just returned from 3 months of standup in Los Angeles, Vancouver and New York, where he impressed audiences with his on-stage ease, clever material and disarming improvisation.
