Performance Start Times: 10.30am and 2.30pm.

The magic of Beauty and the Beast will come to the stage of Emu Sports Club from Wednesday 14th January. This adaptation promises to be magnificent entertainment. See the plot of this perennially popular fable unfold as Blotti enters the castle of the Beast. Blotti is an impoverished merchant and the Beast promises him riches if he will send Beauty, his youngest daughter to visit him.

Beauty’s goodness sees past the ugliness of the Beast. The purity of her love restores him to the handsome young prince he once was.
There will be colourful set and costume design by well known Leone Sharp. Everything from scenes of humour to an exciting duel with swords. Members of the audience – especially children – may like to meet the characters after the show.
Suitable for all ages.

Ticket price is $20 adults, $15 children or for a family group of 4 it will cost $50.

the NOW now - Sydney’s mind-blowing annual festival of exploratory and improvised music -
returns in January 2015 with its biggest and wildest event yet – across 3 inner city venues.

The NOW now is an Artist Run Initiative that has been working since 2001 to present a diverse and unique
mix of exploratory, experimental, improvised, noise, sound-art, outsider, free, unpopular and
generally ‘other’ music at a range of venues and spaces in Sydney and greater NSW.

The work is spontaneous... and explosive!

The January festival is its annual highlight and showpiece. This year it boasts more than 50 performances
involving over 100 Australian and international artists over a 5 day period at the three brilliant Marrickville venues:
The Red Rattler, SNO Contemporary Art Projects and 55 Sydenham Rd.

Tickets are $20/$15 per night; $45/$35 three-day pass; $85/$65 five day pass.

The Bossa Nova is synonym of Love, Joy and Melancholy. On the 3rd of January, The French Caribbean singer Tricia Evy (currently touring Australia) invites you to travel to Brazil, through the wonderful melodies and arrangements of Antonio Carlos Jobim.

Joining her will be: Dan Barnett (Voice/Trombone), Richard Maegraith (Saxophone/Flute), Matt McMahon (Piano), Phil Stack (Double Bass), Anthony Howe (Drums).

This show (sold out in Paris last summer) is not to be missed.

Boasting the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and three Tony Awards including best musical score, Doorstep Arts in association with Hayes Theatre Co willpresent Next to Normal at Hayes Theatre Co from Thursday 8 January after a wildly successful season in Geelong earlier this year.

With poignant lyrics and a powerful contemporary rock score, Next to Normal is an insightful and fiercely honest story of love, loss and family life. Reprising her critically claimed role, Natalie O’Donnell (Mamma Mia, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), leads a superb cast as Diana, a troubled woman in danger of being engulfed by her past. Cathartic and ultimately uplifting, Next to Normal challenges us to ask the question, ‘What is normal?’
Joining Natalie in the cast are some of Australia’s finest musical theatre talent including Anthony Harkin (Avenue Q, Shane Warne The Musical), Alex Rathgeber (An Officer And A Gentleman, Fiddler on the Roof), Brent Trotter (Jersey Boys, Four Seasons In One Night), Kiane O’Farrell (Carrie: The Musical, 42nd Street) and Clay Roberts (CATS, Thoroughly Modern Millie).
