Resonance is delighted to announce the opening programme in our new and exciting series for 2015.

One of Australia's leading violinists, David Saffir, launches the 2015 series with two of the most celebrated sonatas in the violin/piano repertoire.

The first sonata by Brahms is one of the most lyrical and heart-warming works by the German master. This is paired with the luscious, majestic and intensely dramatic sonata by French composer Ceasar Franck.

As always, our programmes run for up to one hour, and complimentary drinks receptions will take place at both Lavender Bay and Annadale. These are beautiful occasions, offering audiences to socialise in beautiful surroundings and chat with the artists.

Internationally acclaimed composer and pianist Chris Jarrett meets up with worldwide busy improviser and magician of the violin Luca Ciarla for a unique duo along the borders of contemporary music and jazz.

Luca Ciarla’s spritelike playing and the quick-fingered expressivity of Chris Jarrett’s improvisations met, hugged, collided; sometimes following parallel paths and other times going in different directions only to meet at the common goal. A fascinating blend of the accessible and the challenging with a magnetic musical appeal.

With multiple television writing credits and mounting radio and television appearances, Ray is widely regarded as one of the hottest rising stars of Australian comedy.

Your headline act follows in the footsteps of Tripod, The Axis Of Awesome and The Doug Anthony Allstars, to be the next big thing in Australian musical comedy. The Stevenson Experience, comprised of identical twin brothers, Benjamin and James Stevenson, were the fastest selling act at the 2013 Canberra Comedy Festival, outselling both Stephen K Amos, and the opening night gala. They have been featured on ABC TV, Triple J, and ABC Radio in Canberra and Melbourne. As part of the CNY15 Festival by City of Sydney

The acclaimed Hunan Folk Orchestra from China will make their debut tour to Australia performing the Chinese New Year’s Concert at City Recital Hall on Friday 20 February at 7.30pm as part of the CNY15 Festival by City of Sydney.

The Chinese New Year’s Concert will bring authentic Chinese music to Sydney for one night only. This concert will feature a selection of repertoires of well-known Chinese music by a group of accomplished musicians.

Hunan Orchestra of Chinese Music is the only orchestra known for integrating Chinese and Western music elements in Hunan Province and has acted as an envoy of cultural interactions and cooperation for Hunan over the past decade. Having toured dozens of countries in Europe, Asia and Africa, the orchestra will present this concert specifically for the Lunar Chinese New Year in Sydney.

Exploring the Soul of Chinese Culture through Folk Music.
