Your Emcee is Australian comedy club and festival regular, Ray Badran. Ray is a phenomenally sharp and talented rising comic who is rapidly making a name for himself as one of the country’s finest comedians and Emcees, with his astute, observational style making him a hit with any audience.

With multiple television writing credits and mounting radio and television appearances, Ray is widely regarded as one of the hottest rising stars of Australian comedy.

Your headline act follows in the footsteps of Tripod, The Axis Of Awesome and The Doug Anthony Allstars, to be the next big thing in Australian musical comedy. The Stevenson Experience, comprised of identical twin brothers, Benjamin and James Stevenson, were the fastest selling act at the 2013 Canberra Comedy Festival, outselling both Stephen K Amos, and the opening night gala. They have been featured on ABC TV, Triple J, and ABC Radio in Canberra and Melbourne. In 2013, they were chosen to support musical comedy legends Tripod on their ‘Men of Substance’ tour and have performed alongside the biggest names in Australian Comedy.

The acclaimed Hunan Folk Orchestra from China will make their debut tour to Australia performing the Chinese New Year’s Concert at City Recital Hall on Friday 20 February at 7.30pm as part of the CNY15 Festival by City of Sydney.

The Chinese New Year’s Concert will bring authentic Chinese music to Sydney for one night only. This concert will feature a selection of repertoires of well-known Chinese music by a group of accomplished musicians.

Hunan Orchestra of Chinese Music is the only orchestra known for integrating Chinese and Western music elements in Hunan Province and has acted as an envoy of cultural interactions and cooperation for Hunan over the past decade. Having toured dozens of countries in Europe, Asia and Africa, the orchestra will present this concert specifically for the Lunar Chinese New Year in Sydney.

Exploring the Soul of Chinese Culture through Folk Music.

Sydney Playwright Evdokia Katahanas has written a cracking new Australian play that provides an
eloquent voice for any employee ever embroiled in workplace politics and double-dealing.
It celebrates how, against all odds and prejudice, the blameless can still walk away and survive.

With an all-star cast including Dina Panozzo, Deb Galanos, Dina Gillespie, Maggie Blinco, Jennifer White, Matt Charleston, Julie Hudspeth, Nicholas Papademetriou and Panda Likoudis. Directed by Sophie Kelly with sound design by Stephen Rae, design by Jasmine Christie & lighting by Liam O’Keefe.
