Australia's ultimate comedy smack-down
Since 1985, the funniest comedians, actors, improvisers, writers and performers, have thrown away their scripts and stepped up the to the edge of the comedy cliff… and jumped off!… freefalling with just their wits, their best one-liners and their craziest comic characters to save them from disaster!

Every year, wave after wave of teams, desperate to score big with the judges, play their way through the Heats, Semi-finals, and then all the way to the Enmore Theatre for the Grand Final, and the chance to engrave their names on Impro Comedy’s Holy Grail, the Cranston Cup!

Each week they battle it out for the honour of being crowned the funniest, most spontaneous and just sheer craziest performers in Australia!

The Honour Roll of past winners includes Andrew O’Keefe, Andrew Denton, Josh Lawson, Rebecca De Unamuno, Jay Laga’aia, Jordan Raskopoulos, Geoff Kelso, Adam Spencer and Rob Carlton.

• Social conversations in Mandarin

Join the revolutionary new Mandarin program 'ChineseWize' where you experience the Chinese language and culture first hand in the real world rather than rote-learn in the traditional classroom. In the 'Social Mandarin Program: Shopping stream, we will shop and bargain in Chinatown at the Friday night markets, gift stores, supermarkets etc.

These real-life experiential classes are designed to accelerate your mastery of Chinese conversational skills and cultural savviness. Suitable for beginners to intermediate learners - you will learn according to your level. Please indicate this when you RSVP. A limited number of native speakers are also welcome to join and chat to learners in Mandarin.

The program including prior reading materials is valued at $80/person. The first hour is facilitated by an experienced Mandarin teacher. The second hour is free practice.

This sprawling comic romp follows four generations of a Yorkshire pig-farming family as they fight to protect their livelihood over the course of the 20th century.

At the heart of the story is the life of William Harrison, beginning as a 19 year old eager for adventure in the trenches of the Somme during WWI and ending as a wise-cracking 109 year old whose candle shows no signs of snuffing out.

The Harrisons are battlers and survivors, and no amount of adversity – be it two world wars, the Depression, fatal shootings, armed robbery, attempted rape or commercial failure – can extinguish their intrinsic optimism and pragmatic outlook. Bean, the celebrated writer of One Man, Two Guvnors, has created a theatrical landscape of epic proportions and infused this family saga of life on the land with a wickedly quirky humour and a deep understanding of human nature.
