Tinder Cindy

Event Date: 18/03/2022, 06:00 pm

Newcastle Fringe
Living with Grandma comes with good dating advice! Who knew??

Jacinda Patty is “Tinder Cindy”. She’s hot – gorgeous, not just hilarious - and she’s ready to rock the Newcastle Fringe
before taking her show on to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in April.
Cindy’s in a crisis – rolling dolmades with one hand while desperately swiping right with the other.
After backpacking around the world, she’s home with no money, no boyfriend – and she’s living with her Greek grandmother.

But granny’s got her back: turns out ‘Yiayia’ has a thing or two to teach Cindy about dating!
Channelling a wise and witty blend of both her grandmothers, Tinder Cindy is a melting-pot full of heart, drive and passion
- funny, thought-provoking theatre that comes alive through movement and music.

Jacinda Patty is a Sydney-based multi-talented artist who has travelled the globe and delights her audience with a fusion of circus, dance, music, comedy… pure entertainment.
Her other recent sell-out shows include ‘Boxed In Sideways’ and ‘Safety Banana’ (5-star reviews).

“Cindy: a vibrant, single, travelled, singing, dancing, captivating Greek Australian balance beam.” - Scenestr
“Celebrates and promotes the independence and freedom that a modern woman can enjoy.” – Theatre People

Potted Potter

Event Date: 01/03/2022, 07:30 pm

POTTED POTTER in Brisbane
2021 marked the 15th Anniversary of the international smash hit Harry Potter parody POTTED POTTER, however, due to Covid lockdown, the celebrations were put on hold. The show’s producer James Seabright is delighted to announce that its creators Daniel Clarkson and Jeff Turner, will be coming to Australia to perform in the rescheduled shows, alongside seasoned performers and fellow Brits Scott Hoatson and Joseph Maudsley. With two casts in Australia for the new tour dates, these wizards are ready for anything!

The 2022 season opens in Brisbane on 1 March then travels to the Sunshine Coast, onto Adelaide, a return season in Sydney, then to Newcastle and finishes in Perth on 24 April.

When announcing their trip Down Under Dan and Jeff said 'We’re so thrilled to be bringing Potted Potter back to Australia with our fellow Brits Scott Hoatson and Joe Maudsley. Although the show has been ‘down under’ several times, this is the first time we’ve been able to join the tour together. We can’t wait to enjoy the finer things in life, like Tim Tams, Vegemite and Quidditch, Aussie Rules style! This will be something you don’t want to miss!'

POTTED POTTER – The Unauthorized Harry Experience – A Parody by Dan and Jeff takes on the ultimate challenge of condensing all seven Harry Potter books (and a real-life game of Quidditch) into seventy hilarious minutes. Even if you don’t know the difference between a horcrux and a Hufflepuff, this fantastically funny show that features all your favourite characters, a special appearance from a fire-breathing dragon, endless costumes, brilliant songs, ridiculous props and a generous helping of Hogwarts magic will make you roar with laughter.

This Best Entertainment, Family Olivier Award Nominee and double Best Of Las Vegas 2019 award-winning show is perfect for ages six to Dumbledore (who is very old indeed).

In Their Footsteps

Event Date: 25/02/2022, 07:00 pm

Playing at the Canberra Theatre Centre
25–26 February
It’s been 50 years since thousands of young American women served their country in Vietnam, and their stories have remained largely untold… until now.

Based on the true accounts of five extraordinary women, In Their Footsteps explores the experiences of women working in war zones, their struggles to be recognised heroes, their loss of faith and the friendships they forged in the face of trauma.

This deeply moving, time traveling piece brings us a better understanding of the Vietnam experience from a uniquely female perspective. It tells us of jobs that have been long overlooked, particularly of civilian jobs in the war that receive, not only no fanfare, but no recognition of service either. It reminds us of the long-term pain, horrors and specifically health implications of serving your country during the Vietnam War.
Theatre Travels proudly presents the remount of this production following its Australian premiere
to a sold out season in Sydney 2021. As the first international Company worldwide to perform
Ashley Adelman and Infinite Variety Productions' beautiful piece of Verbatim Theatre, the show
makes its ACT and SA premieres after successful runs Off-Broadway and at the Edinburgh Fringe
Festival.

Bob Downe: Viva Bob Vegas!

Event Date: 25/02/2022, 08:00 pm

Viva Bob Vegas! is one of the funniest nights out
Last year the celebrated star of cabaret, comedy, television and theatre Bob Downe was all dressed up with no-where to go in his sequin tracksuit and blonde helmet hair, but now he continues to sparkle in Australian cult status as he brings back the big songs and scandals all the way from Sin City to Sydney at Paddocking RSL 25-26 February 2022.

Viva Bob Vegas! is one of the funniest nights out in years (and don’t we all need a good laugh right now). Complete with a four piece band, including Sydney legend Shauna Jensen and dancing girls Frenchie Darling and Cello Bordello. This show is a crooner hit nightclub act deemed way too hot for Vegas, led by the swinger of Comedy, Triple Threat and Prince of Polyester Bob Downe.

Viva Bob Vegas! is full of surprises that’ll have you in stitches and reaching for a Highball and as always, Bob Downe promises to put the Pimms in your Punch!

‘What happens in Vegas stays on the Downe low!’

One of Australia’s most loved and enduring comedy characters, Bob is the creation of journalist, comedian, actor and broadcaster Mark Trevorrow.

Bob’s stage shows have played to acclaim at the Edinburgh Fringe, Adelaide Cabaret Festival and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and decades of touring across Australia and the UK including P&O Comedy Cruises and performing for the Queen at the Royal Variety Performance. Bob’s TV appearances range from Countdown to The Project, from the Mike Walsh Show to Studio 10, and hosting multiple Sydney Mardi Gras broadcasts. As Mark he has been heard regularly on ABC local radio and presented The Way We Were, a ratings winner on ABCTV in 2004. He is also featured regularly on Kath & Kim as ‘Darryl’ the menswear salesman.
