The final of the Sydney Eisteddfod Musica Viva Chamber Music Award will combine the talents of six outstanding groups in a program of wonderful music.

Carrying $11,500 in total prize money, along with performance and professional development opportunities with Musica Viva, This event attracts the finest chamber players from all over Australia and New Zealand. Previous winners Include Sydney Camerata and the Strelitizia, Dumky and Morinda Trios.

A must for ‘lovers’ of classical music, this is one of the impressive events in the Sydney Eisteddfod program.

This event showcases the richness of Australia’s instrumental talent
Six of Australia’s finest instrumentalists in the16-to-25 age group the will combine their skills in a program of magnificent music when they compete in the final of the NSW Dr Orchestra Instrumental Scholarship.

Carrying a total prize value of $10,500, this event is a major highlight of the Sydney Eisteddfod program and with former winners either enjoying careers in music or excelling in studies abroad, its record is impeccable.

The talent it attracts is always phenomenal and the standard of playing in the final round is sure to enthrall lovers of classical music.

Your Emcee is another National Raw Comedy Winner (2009), Michael Workman, whose many subsequent awards include Best Newcomer at the 2011 Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Michael is one of the most exciting, creative and unique voices in Australian comedy and we are delighted to have him lead this very special show.

Beethoven Triple with Asia Pacific Competition Winners!
In July 2013, the Lyrebird Trio beat contestants from around Australia and the Asia Pacific Region to win both piano trio prizes at the quadrennial Asia Pacific Chamber Music Competition.

Featuring principal musicians from the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, The Lyrebird Trio have already delivered performances across Australia and internationally.
On August 2nd they will appear for the first time ever with full orchestra to perform Beethoven’s Triple Concerto with The Metropolitan Orchestra (TMO).
ET Concert 3 will open with Mozart’s popular and energetic Le Nozze di Figaro Overture and close with Dvorak’s cheerful and optimistic Symphony No 8 continuing TMO’s astonishing sell-out MET Concert season with Australia’s finest chamber trio.
