A major new cinema event offering a fresh perspective on The Impressionists, through the life and work of the man who introduced them to the world - Paul Durand-Ruel - will screen at select Event cinemas for a strictly limited time from May 30, as part of EXHIBITION ON SCREEN.

Based on the Inventing Impressionism exhibition, which recently opened at the National Gallery London (in collaboration with the Musée du Luxembourg, Musée d’Orsay and Philadelphia Museum of Art), EXHIBITION ON SCREEN: The Impressionists and the Man who Made Them, focuses on 19th Century Parisian art collector Paul Durand-Ruel.
It was his continual support, championing, financial backing and refusal to give up that established one of the most loved and recognisable movements in Western art – Impressionism.

EXHIBITION ON SCREEN: The Impressionists and the Man who Made Them features key works by Manet, Monet, Degas, Cézanne, Renoir and Pissarro.


IMPORTANT:

Your Headliner is one of the very best in the country, armed with sharp material, energetic performance style and a captivating presence: Cam Knight.

2014 was a huge year for Cam, with a 5 star review from The Adelaide Advertiser for his solo show ‘100 Percenter'. The show gained a national Comedy Festival run of sold out shows, and an encore performance at the Sydney Comedy Store, also selling out in late August. Cam featured on the Sydney Comedy Festival Gala on The Comedy Channel and appeared on ABC TV’s ‘Back Seat Drivers’, being called back for 3 episodes. “Cam Knight's show has it all...Knight will have you in stitches from the first minute till the last…" Amelia Broadstock, The Adelaide Advertiser.”

Your Emcee for the night just happens to be one of the very best Emcees in the country: Lindsay Webb, a master of riffing and audience interaction.

Lindsay also had a cracking 2014; supporting Dave Hughes and selling out his show at the Adelaide Fringe Festival and Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Lindsay is a regular guest on Wil Anderson’s TOFOP Podcast, has supported Wil around the country, and appeared on ‘Good News Week’, ‘Stand Up Australia’ and ‘The Footy Show’, to name but a few. Your featured guest is Ben Ellwood; stand up comedian, writer and dog whisperer who performs regularly all around Australia, the UK and the United States.
