A toe-tapping, tune-humming, feel-good hit for 60 years
A toe-tapping, tune-humming, feel-good hit for 60 years, the show has starred such luminaries as Carol Burnett and Barbara Windsor.
In the hands of Rockdale Musical Society (which was recently honoured by Sydney Arts Guide with the Best Fringe Show of 2015 award
for its production of Into the Woods), Calamity Jane promises more top quality, family entertainment… and a few surprises!

Whip, Crack, Away!
In Dakota Territory, USA, the small western mining town of Deadwood City is about to undergo a calamity.
The Golden Garter Saloon, owned by Henry Miller and his niece Susan, is preparing for the visit of a lovely New York entertainer, Frances Fryer.
When the lovely star turns out be a man, all hell breaks loose. Calamity Jane, a hard- hittin’, gun-totin’ local tomboy comes to the rescue.
She rides off through the Black Hills of Dakota to Chicago to bring back the most popular music hall performer of the time, Adelaide Adams.
Calamity strikes again when she returns with the “star” who happens to be Adelaide Adams’ maid and dresser, Katie Brown.
When Katie’s deception is discovered during her performance, the locals are ready to riot.
Calamity Jane convinces the crowd to give Katie a chance and they discover that they really do have a star in their midst.
Just when all seems well, Lieutenant Danny Gilmartin, Calamity’s secret love, falls in love with Katie.
Calamity is infuriated and runs Katie out of town, only to discover that her real love is an old friend.
All ends well – but just how is anyone’s guess!

FOURFATHERS is the much-anticipated follow-up to John's successful solo show Storytiller that played to delighted audiences at last year's Spectrum Now and Sydney Fringe Comedy Festivals. John's stories have featured many times on ABC702. James Valentine showcases his childhood memories in his afternoon segments When John was interviewed by Richard Fidler on his program Conversations, Fidler made the rare call of inviting John to record for a second hour. Upon taking off the headphones, Fidler told John to, "Expect a call from publishers wanting to publish the book!"

FOURFATHERS picks up where Storytiller finished - dissecting family relationships, parenting disasters and impossibly quirky kids. John brings his years as a professional writer, improv comedian and actor together in this premiere of his brand new show. The show will launch a brand new little theatre space nestled underneath the Petersham Bowling Club

Introducing the evening with his own brand of storytelling will be George Catsi. The Sydney-based satirist earned his PHD researching how TV evangelists manipulate minds and public media. His alter ego, the Reverend Slim Limits fronted the well-known cabaret group GODS COWBOYS, of which John was a member.

When Stine's creations are unintentionally released from their manuscripts, Zach's life takes a turn for the weird.
