‘Paquito’ is her second and much better foray into Comedy. It comes off the back of what was a very important year as she completed her Bachelor of Creative Arts course (the ‘green on a four coloured pen’ of degrees) and presented her debut hour - ‘Boss’ - at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Sydney Comedy Festival.

Bossinakis returns to the Festival in 2019 with her second-hour show, ‘Paquito’. In this show she questions where it all went wrong, could it be the fact that she can name each Kardashian but not all three branches of government? Or maybe that she completed a mime credit at university?

In Tinkerbell and the Dream Fairies, the adventurous Tinkerbell happens upon the fairies from A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Travelling from the Dream Land, the cheeky Mustardseed, fluttery Moth, daring Cobweb and sweet Peasblossom all go on a magical quest with Tinkerbell, learning about the different worlds they are from.

Award-winning artistic director of the Australian Shakespeare Company, Glenn Elston, developed this show with early learning experts to ensure it truly engages and inspires young minds and bodies.

Audience members are invited to come dressed as a fairy or an elf and join in the singing and dancing …so pack a picnic and join in the magic! Suitable for ages 3 – 8

EVIE WELTLINGER RELEASES DEBUT ALBUM

Songs of My Heart
Multi-lingual world music singer, composer & lyricist, Evelyne Weltlinger,
launches her debut CD at Camelot’s intimate Django Bar in Marrickville, on Sunday 14 April.

“Songs of My Heart” features joyful, soulful and always tuneful Yiddish songs with Evelyne’s original lyrics in French and English,
as well as evergreen classics, and her own expressive compositions in an exotic mix of languages.
Evelyne (Evie) Weltlinger’s debut album is, by her own admission, a celebration of her late ‘coming out’ as a singer.
Born in Casablanca, Morocco, she came to Australia as a child, speaking only French,
although a mishmash of German, Yiddish and later English, also rang through the home.
The sounds of these languages, as well as classical and French music,
with her father’s beautiful violin playing, continuously surrounded and influenced her.

She sang in various youth groups, and desperately wanted to become a singer.
However, her parents disapproved and – like so many young women of her generation –
she went instead to university, and became a (much loved!) high school French & English teacher.

10 years ago, after career, marriage, parenthood (including being mother to two accomplished artists), the music burst through!
Since then, Evelyne has performed in various venues in Sydney – including at Sydney’s iconic world music venue Camelot –
as well as in Germany and France - and always with an outstanding line-up of musicians,
foremost among them her talented, internationally renowned violinist son Daniel!

Last year she recorded Songs of My Heart in Berlin, accompanied by Daniel and outstanding European musicians,
including her famous mentor and friend, Karsten Troyke, (who also produced this fine recording).

The Greatest Magic Show - Melbourne

The Greatest Magic Show is once again returning to The Melba Spiegeltent in Collingwood from 13 to 20 April as a part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival! Featuring incredible illusions, escaping from 200m of GLAD WRAP before being covered in a bucket of slime, incredible circus artistry, and invisibly shooting a very special guest out of a cannon across the stage; these are just some of the things that make this family-friendly magic show, the GREATEST!

Plus, every single child who comes to the show will be given a free magic wand on entry… what’s not to love?!

Known as The Showmen, Melbourne-based comic magicians Justin Williams (26) and Sam Hume (20) will be using their combined 15 years in family entertainment to put on this production, which is anything but a typical children’s magic show.

“Justin and I have been passionate about magic and performing our whole lives,” says two-time winner of the Australian Junior Championships of Magic and former Australian Champion of Close-Up Magic, Sam Hume.

“We have painstakingly put together completely original routines, bringing together a range of disciplines to deliver a show that is sure to leave an impression.”

Their recent sold-out season at Fringe World in Perth, saw them winning an award for the best children’s show. This was off the back of previous sold-out seasons at the 2015, 2016 and 2019 Melbourne Magic Festivals, along with celebrated performances at the Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide Fringe Festivals.

The Greatest Magic Show Melbourne season will once again feature the same energetic, unforgettable, jaw-dropping feats that have delighted revellers across the country, with a few new, added twists! This high-octane spectacle is filled with breathtaking illusions and loads of audience participation. If you see one show this season, it should be this.

John Knowles returns in 2019 with a new season of 'I Can Top That!' on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. Hosting a live episode of his regular ABC702 Afternoons with James Valentine segment ‘ I Can Top That!’, John and three special guest comedians tell completely true - totally unprepared stories inspired by random topics suggested by you the audience.
In the first half off the evening, BESPOKEN WORD brings together writers, comedians, poets and improvisers in an intimate celebration of great storytelling. You’ll see everything from hilarious confessions to improvised Shakespearean verse to jaw-dropping true tales told by the people that experienced them.

and was the first Australian telemovie ever to be purchased by the US Cable Network, Showtime.
John’s awards include the Rodney Seaborn Playwrights' Award, the NSW Premier’s Literary Award and several AFI and AWGIE awards.
