WE HAVE MAGIC TO DO! PIPPIN REOPENS THE SYDNEY LYRIC
Producers John Frost and Suzanne Jones along with Foundation Theatres and The Star today announced that the exhilarating Tony Award®-winning hit musical PIPPIN will reopen the Sydney Lyric Theatre at The Star for an exclusive season from 24 November 2020. Full of extraordinary acrobatics, wondrous magical feats and soaring songs from the composer of Wicked, PIPPIN is Broadway’s high-flying, death-defying hit Broadway musical.

This unforgettable new production is the winner of four Tony Awards® including Best Musical Revival, Best Direction of a Musical, Best Actress in a Musical and Best Featured Actress in a Musical. Hailed by the New York Times as “Astonishing. A PIPPIN for the 21st century. Dazzling and awe-inspiring”, it’s unlike anything you have ever seen before!

With a beloved score by Oscar and Grammy winner Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Godspell), PIPPIN tells the story of a young man at a crossroads in his life. Does he follow in the footsteps of his father, one of the most powerful men in the land? Or does he strike out on his own, to find his own ‘corner of the sky’? PIPPIN is a play within a play. The story is told by a travelling troupe of actors and acrobats (called ‘Players’), directed by the mysterious Leading Player. Like a vaudeville act, the Players both act out the roles of the story and speak directly to the audience.

The world’s most acclaimed multi-sensory COVID-aware experience celebrating one of the most feted artists of all time The Royal Hall of Industries, Moore Park.
Emma Triggs, founder and CEO of the M Agency and Promoter of Van Gogh Alive at M-Live, together with creator Bruce Peterson, owner and founder of Grande Exhibitions, are proud to bring Van Gogh Alive to Australia to premiere in Sydney as one of the first purpose-built COVID-aware arts and entertainment initiatives.

Van Gogh Alive is the large-scale, multi-sensory experience that has inspired over 6 million people across 50 cities around the world including Rome, Milan, Berlin, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Moscow and many more. The digital spectacular opens on Friday 18 September 2020 for a strictly limited COVID-aware season at The Royal Hall of Industries. The Royal Hall of Industries is registered as a COVID-safe venue.

This is no ordinary art exhibition. Van Gogh’s works have been exhibited and admired for over a century – but never like this. Van Gogh Alive gives visitors the unique opportunity to immerse themselves into Van Gogh’s artistry and truly venture into his world. From start to finish, visitors are surrounded by a vibrant symphony of light, colour, sound and fragrance that has been called an ‘unforgettable’ multi-sensory experience. Van Gogh's masterpieces come to life, giving visitors the sensation of walking right into his paintings, a feeling that is simultaneously enchanting, entertaining and educational. Adults and children delight in the super-scale show, viewing artworks from new angles and discovering unique perspectives. Visitors also have the chance to examine Van Gogh’s sources of inspiration via photographs and video displayed alongside his works.
The exhibitions runs from 18 to 25 September. Winners will be able to choose the date and time they would like to attend.

THE CREDEAUX CANVAS: LIVE THEATRE IN SYD...

Event Date: 23/07/2020, 07:00 pm

The Credeaux Canvas by Keith Bunin
The production – believed to be the first post-lockdown play to open - will be presented under strict Health directives with audiences - initially at least - limited to 24 PEOPLE per performance, all socially distanced.

All COVID-associated instructions will be in place, with the venue thoroughly cleaned upstairs and down,
hand sanitiser available and audiences advised to wear masks - depending on health regulations closer to the time. Audiences will also be placed at the back of the room, at considerable distance from the actors.
The Credeaux Canvas is the story of three twenty-somethings struggling to survive.
There is a promising bi-sexual artist, his room-mate (a disenchanted and disinherited real estate agent) and this character’s girlfriend- a promising singer.
They hatch a plan to dupe a wealthy art connoisseur into buying a forged painting, purportedly by French artist Jean-Paul Credeaux.
A window into the disillusionment of entitled generation Ys in the early 2000s, the play is generously laced with humour, sexual tension and a famous, very unusual nude scene!
There are great moments of both irony and tragedy that have kept audiences around the world enthralled for nearly twenty years.
Solomon is assisted by Isaac Broadbent and it stars Samson Alston, Jasper Bruce, Rachel Marley, Tom Kelly and Beth Daly as Tess.
From 23-26 July Thurs-Sun 7pm (plus 2pm Sun) | Then from 28 July Tues, Wed, Thurs 7pm, Sun 5pm
Season Previews July 23rd & 24th at 8pm | Season from July 25th to 23 August (more to be added as restrictions ease)
