Shit-Wrecked!

Event Date: 14/10/2022, 07:00 pm

Quick Tix open to all VIC members
Golden Gibbo Nominees - Melbourne International Comedy Festival, 2022

All aboard you gaslighting girl bosses to the cruise that defines the spirit of the seas!

For all those who wish to feel the salt in their eyes, wind on their tits and semi-stale fish fingers in their gob, this is a ship that does not discriminate. The prosecco is warm, the mattresses are Cruskits and the arancini’s a god damn gobstopper, but hey, your wristband’s tight, your g-strings tighter, your car’s on a boat!! (incredible!!!) and you’re smellin’ like a coconut’s armpit all the way from Port Melbourne to Devonport.

After smash-hit sold out tour of ‘No Hat, No Play! The Cabaret!’ and being coined ‘the future of Australian comedy’ (Herald Sun), queer musical comedy duo Samantha Andrew (TikTok star, Green Room award-winner) and Mel O’Brien (not-a-TikTok-star and not-a-Green-Room-award-winner) are back with 'Shit-Wrecked!'

Featuring a smorgasbord of sketches and an all original soundtrack with songs including: ‘Me n’ My Wonky Tit’, ’That’s How I Died in IKEA’, ‘Depop Piss Pot’ and ‘Lifeboats Are For Women and Children (sha la la la)', this show is bound to be the longest ‘yeah buoyyyyyy’ in history!

So in the name of the son, the ghost and THE Holy Spirit herself, PLUNGE into that murky kid pool, you Australiana opal-bedazzled sister! Let your captains Mel & Sam do the rest, cos it’s high tide (and high time) to get Shit-Wrecked!

Bon voyage, bitches. It’s time to play fucken’ mermaids.

Cumming Of Age

Event Date: 17/10/2022, 08:00 pm

The journey of masturbation and other firsts, through song and story.
Orgasms are a beautiful thing. But why don't we talk about masturbation? This oversight will be addressed.‍

Cry, laugh and cringe as Phoebe sings her way through her discovery of masturbation, love, physical intimacy and long, long... dry spells.

"When I was 5, I was caught in a blow-up pool with the end of the hose on my pom-pom (as my Dad would call it), giggling my head off."

Cumming of Age is a one-woman comedic musical show starring Phoebe Deklerk; a quirky singer who loves talking about the weird and wonderful.

Amazing Adventures Of Her Majesty Jubilee!

Event Date: 16/10/2022, 07:00 pm

Affectionate musical comedy @ Melbourne Fringe
This affectionate musical comedy is a tribute to a thoroughly modern, fully empowered female role model – a woman who headed up a country and united a commonwealth for more than 70 years, earning respect, admiration and affection from around the world.

From the vantage point of her Platinum Jubilee and final year, we see how this colourful lady head of state defined the postwar era. In this show, Carole Shaw reflects on HM’s long life and reveals her ‘all’ to her people – her undying love for her corgis, the men in her life, her singlehanded success at forging peace processes, her secret passion for motorbikes ... with a surprise ‘coming out’ at 96.

You are regally commanded to join Her Majesty for tea, free cake & biscuits, and a gracious glimpse into hitherto unseen aspects of her life – with audience participation, SingalongaLiz and a quiz. We may mourn her passing and the end of an era, but HM would not have wished us to be miserable.

Don't miss the UK’s answer to Hannah Gadsby and Mrs Maisel! Handbag – the regal older lady’s Fleabag!
★★★ “A solid, warm performance with delightfully silly moments” The Reviews Hub

N.B The online version of this show was filmed before the Queen’s recent death.

The Briefing

Event Date: 15/10/2022, 09:30 pm

A press conference with the USA’s second most notorious liar.
Melissa McGlensey is tackling the dumpster fire of news from the USA in the only way she knows how – through comedy.
You’re invited to be part of the press pack at The Briefing – a send-up of right-wing politics that takes
aim at the USA, only to catch Australia in its crosshairs as well.
Behind the podium, McGlensey transforms into right-wing blowhard Sarah Sanders, taking you on a journey of political theatre, partisan nonsense and dark humour, before giving you the right of reply in an improvised Q&A session that promises to yield more laughs than actual answers. You’ve never experienced a presser like this before. Don't forget to bring your questions!
The Briefing is directed by Alasdair Tremblay-Birchall, a stand up and sketch comedy performer ('Magma', 'Teleport') who writes jokes for TV like Shaun Micallef's Mad as Hell and co-hosts the podcast, Two In The
Think Tank.
The Briefing is written and performed by Melissa McGlensey, a writer (The Onion, Reductress, The Betoota Advocate) and improviser/comedian (Completely Improvised Survivor, The Big HooHaa!, Soothplayers) originally from the USA. As an expat and former journalist, McGlensey offers a unique perspective on the important political moment we are living in.
