Narcifixion

Event Date: 14/05/2021, 08:00 pm

FORM Dance Project - Sydney
Led by powerful performers Anton and Brianna Kell, NARCIFIXION is a dark and humorous work about narcissism. This pertinent, highly detailed and expansive contemporary dance duet examines identity in the digital age. Inspired by narcissistic behaviour epidemically prevalent across the screen space, NARCIFIXION explores physical characters, who are in a constant state of exhibiting and observing themselves. Tapped, scanned and swiped, this enticingly strange world is jam packed with riotous dance, physical characters and over the top theatricality.

Set in tune to the deep synth vibes of Jai Pyne and illuminated by Steve Hendy, the dance of NARCIFIXION is dense, superficial, super serious and profoundly absurd.

The Shape Of Things

Event Date: 07/05/2021, 07:30 pm

The Shape of Things returns for a brief one week season at Flight Path Theatre
Following the highly acclaimed initial season, The Shape of Things returns for a brief one week season at Flight Path Theatre with some special matinee performances for school audiences May 4-9.

Neil La Bute’s modern classic “The Shape of Things” played to a critically acclaimed season at Flight Path Theatre in January.
It now returns for one week in May, where there will be several day sessions to allow senior high school students to see the production.
The play is currently being studied by HSC students in the drama “black comedy”section.

he Shape of Things (by Neil LaBute (The Mercy Seat, Reasons to be Happy) is a smart, funny,
well-observed and provocative play – which toys with questions of art and sex.

The title is a reference to the future of art and the shock of the new to come.
Adapted into a hit film with Paul Rudd, a 2003 STC version of the show starred Brendan Cowell and Leanna Wallsman.
The play has now come to be regarded as a modern American classic.

That’s right - TheatreSports is back!
After a looooong year off, we’re ready to hit the stage running, and entertaining audiences the only way we know how…by the seat of our pants.

You’ll see comedy scenes, stories & songs all made up on the spot, with the ridiculous restrictions you love from TheatreSports & Whose Line Is It Anyway? All packed into a quick-fire comedy extravaganza.

Hosted by Author, Comedian & Maths Geek...Adam Spencer (JJJ, The Glasshouse, GNW, etc)

Featuring a stellar cast of improvising comedians, who’ll be challenged to make it all up on the spot, with no rehearsal & no prep time. It’s the ultimate actor’s nightmare…and improvised comedy at its fastest and funniest.

We’re thrilled to return to the beautifully renovated Enmore Theatre, on Sunday May 9th, 4:30pm, as part of the Sydney Comedy Festival 2021.

May 9th also happens to be Mothers’ Day, so why not treat your All-Star Mum to a comedy show unlike any other – we guarantee she’ll be in tears…of laughter.

So, grab some friends (appropriately), or just bring your good self (you’ll make new friends).

Tickets start from just $35.00 and we have a special family tickets price available.

With an All-Star Cast, including: David Callan, Kate Coates, Daniel Cordeaux, Rebecca De Unamuno, Bryce Halliday (Improvising Musical Maestro), Rob Johnson, John Knowles, Lisa Ricketts, Adam Spencer (Host With The Most), Jane Watt…and more to be announced.

Charisa Bossinakis Pineapple Juice

Event Date: 01/05/2021, 08:15 pm

Sydney Comedy Festival
Charisa Bossinakis is tired and doesn't want to work hard anymore. What’s a girl to do?
n her new hour, “I will be a trophy wife” Charisa explores how to trap footballers.
She hopes their fame will help her secure a gig on Triple J, a Target athleisure line,
a reality show and perhaps even a multivitamin line (spoiler alert: vitamins are actually made from chalk!).

No… just kidding!

Girls can aspire to be WAGs; they just can't say it out loud! This is why Charisa's new show is actually called Pineapple Juice.
Melbourne-based Charisa plays at the Factory Theatre Marrickville on Saturday 1 May (8.15pm) and Sunday 2 May (7.15pm)
in a sassy, laugh-out-loud show where, among other things, she outs herself as the black sheep of her family
and blows the lid on an unconventional childhood that included being suspended for making the school bully cry…

Aside from a burgeoning parallel career in radio and print journalism, Bossinakis has performed at numerous comedy clubs around the country
and debuted her sell-out show Boss at Melbourne Fringe Festival in 2017,
which earned her a spot in Melbourne Critique’s ‘Top Ten Picks’ for the festival that year.
