Presented by Sydney Eisteddfod in partnership with the Rotary Club of Sydney Cove, this special sing-off will feature the some of Australia’s best choristers performing favourite songs like you've never heard them before!

This exciting Sunday afternoon entertainment is something the entire family is bound to enjoy, with the stand out choral performances from this year’s Sydney Eisteddfod selected to participate. Choirs will be singing for Audience & Jury vote, with the winners walking away with their share of the $20,000 prize pool.

Raising funds for both Sydney Eisteddfod and the Rotary Club of Sydney Cove, proceeds go towards the Sydney Eisteddfod Scholarship Fund and enabling the continuation of the Rotary Club of Sydney Cove’s work in the community both in Australia and overseas.

Celebrity Theatresports® is the night the stars come out to play – and the funniest fundraiser of the year!
Celebrities and improvisers take to the Enmore Theatre stage without a script to make up comedy scenes on the spot from your ideas.
A cast of some of Australia’s best-known performers face crazy comedy challenges and ad-lib their way to glory.

This year’s show contributes funds to CanTeen whose mission is to be in the corner of every young person,
providing support when cancer crashes into their world - whether it’s their own diagnosis,
a close family member’s cancer or the death of a loved one.

Guests include ABC TV & radio personality Adam Spencer, Logie Award-winning actor and writer Rob Carlton,
Darren Gilshenan (Here Come The Habibs, No Activity, The Moodys), ABC TV presenter Kumi Taguchi,
Yvie Jones (Gogglebox), Andrew O’Keefe (Deal or No Deal, Sunrise), TV comedy star Susie Youssef,
TV/radio personality and comedian Rebecca De Unamuno, Jioji Ravulo (Pizza, Housos vs Authority),
comedian, TV and radio presenter Peter Berner, TV/Film actor and Playschool legend Benita Collings,
actor-improvisers and stars of Thank God You’re Here Nicola Parry and Daniel Cordeaux.
Plus a slew of impro comedy legends including Michael Gregory, Ewan Campbell, Marko Mustac, Lisa Ricketts,
Kate Coates, Robert Boddington, Jack Balhausen, John Knowles, David Callan and Jon Williams.

Directed by the original creator of Celebrity Theatresports Julie Dunsmore, with MCs Jay Laga’aia (The Lion King, Star Wars)
and impro legend Monique Dykstra, musical genius improviser Bryce Halliday and celebrity guest judges
including Theatresports doyen Lyn Pierse, this is improvised comedy at its biggest & best!

The 14th annual Arab Film Festival Australia (AFFA)
The 14th annual Arab Film Festival Australia (AFFA) returns this August in 2017 sharing the stories and cultures of the Arab world with an impressive program of six features and five short films.

AFFA will screen films from Lebanon, Egypt, Algeria, Jordan, Palestine, Iraq, Tunisia and Australia, and kicks off in Sydney (17–20 August), moving through Melbourne (25-27 August), Canberra (01–02 September) before concluding in Perth (09 September).

The 2017 Arab Film Festival program serves as an important platform for films that share unique and often unheard or untold stories about the experiences of Arab people today. This year the Festival shines a light on the lives of generations of Arab women and how they navigate and overcome modern day prejudice. AFFA also features stories that provide audiences with an in depth look at the lives of young men and how they battle with expectations of masculinity in today’s society. From documentaries to classic love stories, the program explores the politics of identity and finding one’s place in a world plagued by turmoil

“I am very excited that this year’s films have such a strong representation of women and complex stories about the lives of men as they challenge societies expectations of them” says Co-Festival Director, Fadia Abboud. “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to feature new female directors through the incredible films we have selected in this year’s Festival.”

The musical will headline the inaugural season of The Bondi Theatre Company.
Motherhood the Musical is about four women who share their insights, challenges and pleasures at a
baby shower.
When it last toured Australia Arts Hub described it as “a hoot ,” Stage Whispers Magazine
applauded its "insightful tongue in cheek lyrics and foot tapping rhythms.", and in the US, Variety
described it as "an entertaining night of chuckles and tears."
In 90 minutes of fun, the audience get a peek into the powerful friendship of Amy, a soon-to- be first-
time mum; Brooke, a hard-working lawyer; Barb, a stressed-out mother of five; and Tasha, a single
mother seeking to balance work, her family and her divorce.
Motherhood the Musical was written by the award-winning singer/songwriter, Sue Fabisch. Among
the 20 original songs are the Top 10 Billboard Comedy Hit “The Kids Are Finally Asleep,” the rousing
“Costco Queen,” the show-stopping “Grannyland” and the tender “I’m Danny’s Mom.”
The cast comprises Rebecca Spicer as Amy and Manon Gunderson-Briggs as Brooke ( recent
graduates from NIDA’s Diploma of Music Theatre course and AIM’s Bachelor of Music). Dynamic
opera singer Chloe Angel plays Tasha. Experienced Theatre Director Christie Koppe plays Barb.
Twenty five years of motherhood gives Director Ruth Fingret an insight into the nuances and not so
subtleties of this musical. The Musical Director Mary Lennon and Choreographer Kayla French are
both graduates of AIM’s Bachelor of Music - majoring in Music Theatre.
There are Eight Performances from the 17 th until the 26 th of August. Adult tickets from $30.

After a sellout season at Monkey Baa Theatre Company in the last school holidays The Theatre Division present a return season their all new original Australian play
Thai-riffic!, adapted from the best-selling novel by children’s author Oliver Phommavanh.
Thai-riffic! will be presented in the Everest Theatre, Seymour Centre from 7 to 12 August. Thai-riffic! will be the first presentation in the Everest Theatre
which has been closed while undergoing extensive renovations including new seats and seating configuration.
Albert “Lengy” Lengviriyakul is the son of Thai immgrants who own a restaurant called Thai-riffic! - which he finds very embarrassing. Lengy is about to start high school and is desperate to transform his image and just eat some pizza! But when his teacher
sets a group assignment that focuses on another culture, it becomes apparent that Lengy won’t be able to get away from his past as easily as he would like.

Through a series of events involving bulk toilet paper, a purple curry and a trip to the Thai New Year Songkran Festival, Lengy discovers that his Thai background is pretty awesome after all.

Based on Timothy Conigrave’s celebrated memoir of the same name, Tommy Murphy’s award-winning play is a breathtakingly honest, achingly funny and completely heart-wrenching account of a 15-year relationship that weathered disapproval, separation, temptation and, ultimately, death. It is a story - and a celebration - that speaks across generations, sexual preference and cultures.

The course of true love rarely runs smooth, but it is a white-water adventure if you are secretly gay in an all-boys school in 1970’s Melbourne… with a crush on the captain of the football team. Against all odds, Tim and John develop a relationship that for fifteen years, survives everything life throws at them-the temptations, the separations, the discriminations, the jealousies and the losses — until the only problem that love can’t solve turns up to tear them apart.

Holding the Man paints a raw, gritty and intimate picture that faithfully captures Timothy Conigrave’s book, but also succeeds in transforming it into a unique theatrical experience that is wholly his own.

At 32, Joseph Tawadros is established as one of the world’s leading oud performers and composers. A virtuoso of diversity and sensitivity, Joseph performs in concert halls worldwide and is known for his brilliant technique, deep musicianship and joyous style of performance.

His drive to push musical boundaries has led to many collaborations with significant performers and a solid repertoire of innovative, original music. He has recorded 13 albums - Storyteller, Rouhani, Visions, Epiphany, Angel, The Prophet: Music Inspired by the Poetry of Kahlil Gibran, The Hour of Separation, Band of Brothers, Concerto of the Greater Sea, Chameleons of the White Shadow, Permission to Evaporate, Truth Seekers, Lovers and Warriors and his latest offering World Music. Joseph has received 12 nominations and won three ARIA (Australian Recording Industry Association) Awards in 2012, 2013 and 2014 for Best World Music Album.

A resident of Sydney since 1986, Joseph was nominated for Young Australian of the Year in 2014, received the NSW Premier’s medal for Arts and Culture in the same year and was awarded an Order of Australia Medal (AM) for his services to music and composition in 2016.
