Sizzling new Australian political satire FRIDAY heats up the Old Fitz.
As the nation gears up for Australia’s upcoming federal election, Sydney Independent Theatre Company (SITCO) presents the world premiere of razor-sharp Australian political satire, FRIDAY by Daniela Giorgi. Sizzling with sex, secrets and scandals, FRIDAY is a tale of democracy in the land of the long weekend. Kicking off at the Old Fitzroy Theatre on 6 August, Giorgi’s exploration of power and engagement runs 8pm Tuesday to Saturday and 5pm Sundays until 31 August 2013.

Set in the legislature of a fictitious modern democracy, FRIDAY highlights democracy's precarious and precious nature, scrutinising the personal and political, and the paper-thin division between the two, delving into one of the greatest tensions in modern society: public responsibility versus private desires.

“Given the series of tumultuous political events in Australia in recent times, Giorgi’s funny and at times heartbreaking examination of the challenges and necessity of political engagement is both timely and very relevant,” said Julie Baz, director of FRIDAY and co-artistic director of SITCO.

SITCO’s production of Giorgi’s second full length play features a large ensemble cast including the renowned Gertraud Ingeborg (Street Car Named Desire, STC and US tour, Harlos Productions principal), David Ritchie (Wolverine, Beneath Hill 60, Harlos Productions principal), Adrian Barnes (The Mousetrap Australian tour, UK West End veteran) and Peter Hayes (Whitlam: the Power and the Passion, The Junction Boys). Performing alongside them are some of Sydney’s seasoned and emerging performers: Tim Cole, Jamie Collette, Sinead Curry, Justine Kacir, Emmanuel Nicolaou, Amara Pické, Cherilyn Price, Sarah Robinson and Gemma Scoble.

Set and lighting design is by David Jeffrey, co-artistic director of SITCO. The costume design is by Rachel Scane and the sound design is by multi-award winning composer, Sarah de Jong.

Interactive theatre is unlike anything found in a Theatre
Interactive theatre is part game, part theatre, part tour, part bar crawl unlike anything found in a theatre, sending the audience on an actual journey through the streets of the city. Based on a concept that has been highly successful in New York, Hollywood and London is now making its debut in Sydney.

Participants are sent on a mission, aided by clues and mysterious cast members scattered throughout various locations in the city such as park benches, iconic landmarks, bars, wharfs, and back alleys. Professional actors to take you on a crazy, exciting adventure throughout the streets of Sydney. Small audience groups navigate the city streets, piecing together clues of an absorbing and entertaining plot "The Messenger".
Looking for something truly unique to do with your weekend or holiday? Interactive theatre promises to provide an experience unlike anything you have ever done. What we will tell you is we base the plot in the Circular Quay & The Rocks general area, we supply the food and drink and you will be contacted; with a time and place where it is all going down. Now You See Me pits an elite FBI squad in a game of cat and mouse against "The Four Horsemen", a magic super-team of the world's greatest illusionists. The Four Horsemen pull off a series of daring heists against corrupt business leaders during their performances, and then funnel the millions of stolen profits into their audiences bank accounts, while staying one step ahead of the law. FBI Special Agent Dylan (Ruffalo) is determined to make the magicians pay for their crimes-and to stop them before they pull off what promises to be an even more audacious heist. But he's forced to partner with Alma (Laurent), an Interpol detective about whom he is instantly suspicious. Out of desperation he turns to Thaddeus (Freeman), a famed magic debunker, who claims the bank heist was accomplished using disguises and video trickery. One thing Dylan and Alma agree on is that the Horsemen must have an outside point person, and that finding him (or her) is key to ending the magicians' crime spree. Could it be Thaddeus? Or Alma? Or could it really be... magic?

Created by award winning choreographer Shaun Parker, this powerful performance combines an intoxicating, free-flowing mix of ballet, break-dance, acrobatics and highly physical contemporary dance. Accentuated by a vibrant electro acoustic score by Nick Wales and Bree Van Reyk, the performers bring fun and danger to the fore in this exhilarating and moving dance work that is all about finding happiness.
Happy as Larry won 12 children’s Jury awards in Perth,the honourable New Zealand Banksy Award and was nominated for Most Outstanding Achievement in Choreography at the 2010 Australian Dance Awards.

Celebrating 13 years, the Latin Dance Australia Ball (LDA BALL) is presented by Latin Dance Australia (LDA) with a “Where’s Wally?” theme. This year, the event takes us back to a place of wonder and excitement as we move through space and time with our memorable childhood character; Wally. The event highlights include theatrical discoveries with the hot Brazilian Candy Coated Carnival troupe Samba SWAT; a Baseball Reggaeton, Salsa Down Under and a romantic dance story; From Paris With Love.

With over 150 performers and over 600 attendees, this Latin Dance Spectacular is a mix of styles such as Salsa, Samba, Cha-Cha, Bachata and more.

This year we host some of Sydney\\\'s National and International World Champions from 2012 and 2013.
